Elie Wiesel quote

“Writing is not like painting where you add. It is not what you put on the canvas that the reader sees. Writing is more like a sculpture where you remove, you eliminate in order to make the work visible. Even those pages you remove somehow remain.”

This quote relates to Night because he is saying that even though the book is only one hundred and fifteen pages long it still is very powerful because of the way that he wrote the book. Writing is powerful no matter how long or how short it is by the way that you word and sculpt it. I agree with this quote because I just finished a huge writing project that all of my writing pieces are short but very powerful by the way that I sculpted them. This quote is really saying that even if you have only like ten pages it does not mean that it is not as powerful as a novel.
